The focus of my PhD research is to develop statistically and computationally efficient optimization methodologies for solving high-dimensional data problems with hidden structures, particularly in the low-rank matrix completion problems. The novel results can also be adapted to the related areas such as variable selection and compressed sensing in statistics and machine learning.
My PhD research topics also include robust convex optimization, sampling average approximation and covariance/correlation matrix estimation.
Thesis title: Matrix Completion Models with Fixed Basis Coefficients and Rank Regularized Problems with Hard Constraints.
